Multisex returns to Weekend Club for a three-floor, 26-hour journey through Multisexual Dance Music on August 15.
For our last show in Berlin this year — and for the foreseeable future — we have invited 19 artists across three floors to a shared celebration of Summer in the City we all love. You'll find the full program below, along with more information at the bottom of the page.
The Loft opens at midnight with a Barcelona-based selector whose Italian, French, UK and Detroit influences move fluidly through house, electro and techno; he is co-founder of both SIKU Series and Sonido Club. He passes to a Colombian-born, Berlin-based musician whose sets fuse melodic house with the punchy rhythmic base of Latin drums, with performances ranging from HÖR to Panorama Bar. As sunrise breaks, a Berlin-based multi-genre force bridges bass, breaks, techno and house with fearless precision — podcasts for Dekmantel, Fabric and Crack Magazine, and sets at Berghain and Pitch Festival. He hands over to a Los Angeles duo forged over a decade in the underground, with releases on Potency and Nervous Records and performances spanning Nowadays and Bossa Nova to Dekmantel, joining us once again at Multisex. Closing the Loft is a Brussels-based selector raised digging records in Antwerp's underground, founder of the label Small Steps, whose dreamy, hypnotic sets have graced Berghain, Fabric and Dimensions.
The Club opens at noon with an Australian artist moving from spacious atmospherics to subterranean bass pressure across clubs and festivals in North America, the UK, Europe and Asia. He passes to a Berlin-based selector whose sonic storytelling spans psychedelic techno, footwork, dub and drum and bass, with a mix named one of the best of the decade by Resident Advisor. Next, a Mexican-American, Detroit-born producer whose raw, high-BPM sets combine jungle, DnB, R&B and techno — he broke through on HÖR before reaching clubs across Mexico, Germany and New York. Closing the Club is a B2B between one of Uruguay's most respected vinyl selectors and underground club founders, and a Mallorca-based all-vinyl DJ whose off-kilter electro, trippy house and deep-cut techno have made him a fixture at fabric and Houghton.
The Roof eases in with an ambient opening before a Berlin-grown Radio 80000 host moves between bass, Balearic and pop edits. A B3B trio of Amsterdam selectors follows, anchored by a house DJ and producer with classical piano and jazz roots, joined by two Amsterdam natives known for energetic all-night sets across house, acid, breaks and progressive sounds. Afternoon brings a Berlin-born house DJ whose rhythmic, tribal-infused grooves have taken her to Watergate and Kater Blau, followed by a Berlin-based DJ and human rights activist whose eclectic energy needs no introduction. A Berlin-born selector known for vibrantly showcasing a progressive blend that's both groovy and energetic adds another layer, before an Irish-born resident of Berlin and Hamburg's queer dancefloors closes out with sensual, uptempo sets ranging from 90s house to modern bouncing rhythms.
